Nothing in TV

Television as usual is completely boring at the moment. Not a single new thing is going on with The Glades that I haven't already reported on. So let's talk about something else.

The president was on the Daily Show. So that was interesting. And in good timing too. Conan has the numbers right now, and being his biggest competition, what better way to beat him out than bringing even bigger celebraties to the show. Can't get much better than our president. But still Coco manages to pull in an audience after the fact so kudos to him.

Simpsons just got reinstated for it's one billions season. This is one show that baffles me. I've seen the show and don't find it funny. Next to family guy and futurama and american dad etc etc it just seems to be milking it's success too far. Maybe I'm just overly critical but it's only being kept alive by it's namesake.

As with every series it seems that after they've waded the waters a little bit they always try for an edgy sequel. The second season of The Glades has been confirmed and directors say it's going to be "darker" than the first season. How dark can it possibly get? It's tv after all. To add to the new plot there is going to be a rocky romance story between Jim and Callie. And the drama is as high as ever.

So what? Horror romance drama? That's a new genera. They need to be careful they don't try to do TOO much with this new season. The dark turns might keep your deep audience members in check, but they'll totally be put off by the romance. Visa verse with the more lighthearted audience. Doing polars might not be the best strategy. You've made it through season one, just don't get too cocky with what you try.

For having a show that actually stuck around, A&E is probably all giddy right now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWiccrTB4LM
